Showing Layers AND Assets at the Same Time
I can't believe this suggestion doesn't already exist, but I work on a 32" or a 27" monitor all the time. I have plenty of screen real estate. Why not let me view both Assets and Layers panels at the same time?

So many of us are working large, and wide-screen monitors these days that there's no reason NOT to have this. Also other programs allow us to TOTALLY customize what panels and windows we have open and visible. Give us a little more flexibility in XD's UI!

I couldn't agree with you more. It is insane how much they have "Windows 8'ed" the design, to the point where you can't find anything, or, once you find it, have to burrow your way through 1000 clicks to get to it!
Quit trying to protect me from complexity! Quit making things inaccessible in the name of modern design! I'm not creating prototypes on my phone. I have a 32" monitor for a reason. Not much makes me angry, but the stupidity of this design choice and the fact that Adobe is ignoring it is infuriating.

This simple feature request is so glaringly because in any other Adobe products workspace you can configure to fit your need. Why the XD team avoids these basic Adobe conventions is perplexing to say the least.

Shocking! It's as if the XD team don't use their own product, otherwise they would surely have noticed that selecting a layer, then moving down to the bottom of the screen to click a small 'assets' button, then moving all the way back up to select a color,... x1000 times a day is really unproductive. (...And BTW, the 'Assets' icon does not convey 'assets' at all).
And using the shortcut keys is neither the solution nor a 'shortcut'. SHIFT+CTRL+ Y means taking both hands off the mouse every time,... which is just as irritating and unproductive.
It's Ironic that XD is the kind of product that is designed for 'User Experience Designers' (like myself) and yet it fails in such basic User Experience operations.

Could do with this feature. Or at least clearly label them 'Layers' and 'Components' and place controls further up the top with everything else, rather than having icons hidden down the bottom left. Have been using XD for the last four months or so and I still pause to think most times I'm about to switch between the two. Don't seem to remember this happening with Figma ...

This is such a no-brainer... how do we even have to start a vote for it? Im amazed. I guess the XD staff doesnt use their own product

This singular feature is what's keeping me from using XD in my workflow...and I really want to use it.
I voted for this 2.5 years ago and came back to check the status. It's so unfortunate this hasn't had any comment from the Adobe team.
Speed and visibility are paramount and they seem like second class citizens. -

And plug ins? or have the option to pop them out and free float them somewhere on the screen. I use the Stark rapid contrast checker to make sure colors are ADA compliant and it's very cumbersome to have to go back and forth.

Not only at the same time, but a basic common sense TREE, and again LIKE PS does. Currently clicking on an object exposes all objects within an artboard otherwise you have no clue....

Yes - this is much needed to see both panels at the same time!

It would be very helpful to have both the assets panel and the layers panel open at the same time. Especially when you need the colors and character styles while designing.
Now you have to switch between both.
Having both open or a separate tab or even window I can put on my second screen would be a great improvement to me.

Using a 21:9 ultrawide monitor, so there is even more space on the sides, I'm going to see white spaces (sometimes useless spaces!) everywhere.

Adding my voice to this — I'm finding it very frustrating having to constantly toggle back and forth. I have a large screen and can easily fit both panels.

I am using CC libraries as a assets panel. Hope this helps other

This is a basic function of all other Adobe applications (customization of workspace). This makes building animations and editing components so much more cumbersome than it should be.

It's ridiculous that we have to toggle back and forth between them. Even better let us detach the panels and rearrange like every other adobe app

And plugins, too!

Agree. this makes me do the same actions over and over again...

... and Plugins panel too. All panels should be able to float or be docked and/ or visible like Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign etc.
I'm using the Windows version and switching via small icons in the bottom left of the screen is crazy when there's so much space available for always being visible.
At least give it as an option please if other users find it better as it currently is.
