Copy and Paste top of list is aggravating
It's very annoying anytime I copy/paste an item within a group or not, that it pastes it into the top of that group in my panel. Instead of right above the item I have selected. If I want to clean up my panel I have to constantly move my items down where I want them after pasting.
If you would like your object in the same location instead of at the top of the stack, you can use Duplicate instead of Copy and Paste.
An example: https://twitter.com/elainecchao/status/887375166526730240
Hope that helps!

@elaine - this doesn't work for new objects pasted in from elsewhere. Try Sketch's "Paste over Selection" to see the behaviour. It honestly saves me hours a week in Sketch.

This is still an issue. New objects (not only duplicates but copy paste from illustrator, photoshop, another Xd artobard..) should paste directly above selected object.
Please combine with this task: https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007-adobe-xd-feature-requests/suggestions/20246680-all-new-objects-should-create-at-the-same-z-order

This is still an issue for duplicating artboards. The "copy/paste" and "duplicate" behaviors seem to be the same for artboards. Are there plans to implement the desired "duplicate" behavior for artboards?
