Make "None" the default transition, not "Dissolve"
I would really like the default transition for wires to be "None," not "Dissolve." I have almost never seen a real website or app or desktop software do page transitions with a dissolve transition, so I don't understand why it's the default transition. I have to change the transition from "Dissolve" to "None" every time I create a new project. I could be the only user who wants this, but I wanted to make this request.

I'd like 0.0s to be the default transition duration, also for overlays and previous artboard.
For website purposes, it's more convenient to show instant animations. For prototype purposes it's very convenient to show instant animations. Most of the time the transitions are instantaneous. Animation is an added value, but is not primary, nor a default expectation in prototype.
Add the fact that an animated transition blocks any other interaction until it has finished, which heavily impacts review viewing. Also, another animation cannot begin until previous one finishes, which breaks the behaviour of quickly moving a mouse over several hover components.
Please update the default transition to "none", it's very annoying to find dissolve transition while you are using the prototype because it was escaped by mistake!!!
How about using the last used transition? That way if your last used was "None", the next will be as well and so on. Or if you do use "Dissolve", then your next will continue with it, etc.
That way the users that like "Dissolve" as default won't be in the same predicament as you, and others that like the different transitions would basically be 'setting' their own default transitions

YES !!!!!!! PLEASE !!!!!!! YES !
Couldn't agree more. As the OP says, what website or app or any software dissolves to move between pages? None as the default makes sense.
Alborz's suggestion of faking up 'loading' is an awesome idea. Might actually lead to managers thinking it is "done" already, though.
I would add to this, what if each person can set their own default, sort of like in Illustrator you have a whole lot of application preferences you can set up and then modify or change if needed.
+1 for this - a simple development task that would save a lot of time for all xd users

how about a 'load' animation where items on the screen load one by one. text first, then images do the interlaced PNG load slowly :D
Being able to set preferences seems like the best option. For example: default transition, default font, default styling on shapes drawn etc.

How about the ability in the preferences to set what the default transition is for a specific project. This way if there is a desired transition for any project, you could set it at the beginning and that would be the default. This would be more robust and accommodate all users preferences.

I find myself tediously clicking through all the links on a page looking for unwanted transitions (mostly dissolves), one by one. In prototype mode, I would like to select all the objects on an artboard or even all the boards in a project, then select a link handle, and change all the selected links to the same transition. In this case, "None". Since many are changed at the same time, maybe a confirmation dialog would be appropriate.
I actually like the dissolve transition as default

Absolutely! I've only used the Dissolve setting a handful of times for modals.
It's obnoxious having to change that setting to None every time, and usually I don't even notice until mid-presentation.
