Photoshop or Illustrator 使いの人にXDを胸を張ってお勧めできない理由。Figmaの方がいいって言ってしまう。

It's crazy that this is not a feature. I'm coming to XD from a history of using InDesign / Photoshop etc. for print work. The colors in XD are DRASTICALLY different from what shows up in the browser. For anyone responsible for ensuring consistent design across media, working with brand colors for companies with brand standards, or in a professional design capacity, that's a joke. Clearly Adobe already has the ability to do this, since in 2020, the Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign can all sync color profiles through Bridge.

How is this not already implemented? Should be the number 1 focus for the next update! Nuts.

Is this for real!?

Many of the best displays for doing UI design are wide gamut. How on earth is XD not color managed?

As an app designer, I would like the high gamut workflow to remain intact between XD and Swift, to take advantage of the high gamut displays on the intended iOS devices.

Adobe XD is older than Sketch and less efficient pffff

Here is a workaround I discovered today that saved me months of work and works on a Mac by default!

1) Export your assets from XD into a folder.
2) Select all exported images with cmd + a within the folder
3) Open all images in Preview and select them all, cmd + a
4) Go to Mac system preferences, displays, colour tab and check your display profile for me it is Colour LCD
5) In Preview from navigation bar select: tools -> assign profile
6) From a drop-down menu select the profile that was found previously in system preferences for me Colour LCD and press ok
7) Save all selected images: cmd + s
8) Open image picker and compare your colours for the ones that are currently in the XD and the ones that you have now in the export folder.

This workaround applies your screen profile to the images, therefore it matches 1 to 1 with the ones that you see in XD.

This is SO NOT acceptable. What's the problem Adobe? Why don't you fix this ?

It feels completely ridiculous having to vote for accurate colors.
Come one Adobe, I'm feeling embarrassed for you.

This definitely needs to be implemented, feels fundamental. The hand off between design and code is terrible with XD. The colour profile on a browser and XD are different. I have attached a screenshot on how I manually edit the colours by visually comparing the two when getting colour codes for our web app. You can see the colour codes are completely different for the "same" colour.

This isn't about "Fixing" a bug. Adobe left it out deliberately for some reason and is ignoring the community on this. It's about providing consistency across the entire ecosystem of Adobe. Adobe wrote the BOOK on color management. Why is this something we need to vote on? What do you advise we designers do when we deliver a share link and the colors in the guidelines do not match? What do you advise us to do without color management? Design blindly? I have yet to find an answer to this basic question. And NO, we are not going to downgrade our full gamut monitor setting to sRGB because of many of us design for print and HDR video too.

And from I read no one can write a plugin for it either for OS security reasons.

Still having the same issue! The colour in XD and in export images are different.

Still no news about a color management system in a design application, included in a suite that manages it perfectly since years..

I can't think of any logical reason why it should occur 4 years down the line..?

Please fix the color management, I cannot believe that I have developed the whole app with wrong assets. It's horrible. I have just upgraded my version to the latest, but still, the export is wrong.

This shouldn't even be something that needs to be asked for, much less voted on. Like buying a car, you expect it to come with tires.

Technical ins and outs aside, this is what I want to solve:

CLIENT/STAKEHOLDER: Why are the brand colors off? Please fix.

ME: I can't. See, this professional software I use doesn't have any kind of blah blah blah. But don't worry, it won't look like that when it goes live.

CLIENT/STAKEHOLDER: I don't care, just make my colors correct. Why am I paying you again?

ME: ...

There are a few features I miss and some problems which are annoying. And this is the Color-Management-Problem. Why is the color so much different on my iMac and iPad (XD App live view) /Browser?????????? In sketch everything is fine …
