link to same artboard
It would be nice to be able to link back to the same artboard, rather than creating a duplicate simply to show the way the logic works in the prototype. Although the Symbols feature does work as a workaround, for data-entry type projects, not having a link back to the current artboard is a problem.
For instance, I have an artboard for an event, and I need to add child, adult and senior retail tickets to the event. Currently I have to have two artboards for retail item data entry so that I can have the logic in place to "add another retail item". I need the ability to load the same form again, before the user moves on. It's not super vital, but feels like an oversight to not be able to reload (with transition) the same artboard.
Simple workaround for anyone wishing to make a home link in the navbar. Turn your navbar into a component but make sure the 'main component' is placed outside of any artboard. You can then link the home button or logo to the homepage artboard, and it will replicate this across all your navbars on all the other artboards. For your homepage, simply edit the navbar of your homepage artboard (not the main component) and remove the home link.
Would be great to have this. A good example is having the navbar as a component on the home page art board. You want the home button in the navbar component to always return to this home art board, but this limitation prevents you from being able to do so.
Yes, hitting the home button on the same artboard wouldn't do anything, but hitting the home button with this navbar component copied to any other art board should return back to the home artboard.
Instead, the work around is to copy this navbar component to a separate artboard just so you can make a link for the "home" button to go to the home artboard.
We need this.

If you have created a left nav component on the homepage artboard for instance, and you want a link in that component to always come back to the homepage artboard, then there's no way to set it up. Other than to make individual instances on the other artboards whereby they link to the homepage artboard. Maybe the overlay someone mentioned would work but that seems kludgy and like a workaround, not solution.
Overall, agree link to same artboard for a component containing links (like a left nav) would be helpful. Set the links once, then place the left nav on the artboards without editing.

Dear Adobe, have you ever tried your own product? I don't think so because if you have then you wouldn't skip on this absolutely basic feature.

You can do this with overlays. I think that's the way to do it.

Create an option to set link from an art board (artboard / web page) to its self. Ex: home page link - in any website you can press the logo and it will links u back to the index.html - but also if you are already there ! And its super useful

1. I would prefer if nothing happened (ie The clicking on the link does not slide the page in again)
2. I would be ok with showing the wire linking to the same page, just so you know its there. But honestly I am ok if it doesn't show.
3. I just want that link to get removed when the item is on the same page as a link. When I have a menu bar with 4 buttons. Each copy is missing one of the links, so I have to be extremely careful to copy the "right" linked up version.
4. It would be awesome for those wired links to copy over even if I am not in prototype mode. Its reallly frustrating to have to be in a specific view in order to copy an asset and its prototype links. It just doesn't match up with normal work.
We need this. Pls.

When you design a long one-page landing website with fixed-position top menu, it would be great to be able to set the link of the home button to either scroll to the top of the page or reload it completely
Other great thing would be the section inside the artboard where you can also link to be able to scroll to this position. Also quite helpful when designing long onepager websites.

Great comment! This would be great as I would like to use this to prototype same page scrolling to different sections without having to create another artboard, as well the user would be able to scroll back. Right now I have to dup the artboard page and cut the page to the section I want to show scrolled. It is cumbersome.
YES, definitely need this! When designing a one-pager, where all the information is on one page, it would bo great to link to different sections of the page within the same page. Please add this to the next update!
Say you are designing a one page website layout something like that, it would be really cool if you could links items together on that same art-board...
There is already the vertical scroll option when viewing a prototype with is awesome for going through a one page layout but it would be even cooler here if you could then link an item from the menu to another location in the layout so it takes you there just to show off the way the designer envisions the design to show to other people who may not get the concept etc...
Really hope this gets implemented!
I would also add that I would like to link a home page link or logo to be a link to the same page as well. It is kind of redundant really, but that would at least mimic what would happen if a user tried to click those.
Since nothing happens (visually) when you link to the same artboard, could you simply not wire up any interaction to the button at all? Or do you still want to see the screen "slide" animation even if the screen will stay exactly the same as it was before?
