Flatten PDFs on export
Export as PDF is nice, but the PDF files that XD is spitting out are huge and take a while to load or print. As a file loads, I can see the elements being added one by one as if layered. This is really painful to share with clients. Could there be an option to flatten PDF (or by default) on export?
You can now export optimized PDFs as of XD26.

for a client, i had to export all artboards numbered in order, then compress them using tinypng.com, and then compile them in adobe acrobat to make them one file. It was painful to do so everytime i realize i had a spelling mistake, or client suggests something. seeing as Adobe XD can't open PDF currently, i believe its better to have the option to omit the layers

I second this request. Alternately please consider a way to down-res placed images from within XD itself. E.g. like when I license a comp from Adobe Stock that I had previously placed in my XD design. Stock dumps in the full res image but I'm designing for web and need a 72dpi version. This would eliminate my need to go out to Bridge or PS to down-res my images and also reduce PDF file sizes.

It would be highly helpful, ie. compressing and customization, to have the typical PDF options when exporting.

On the other hand, I also see a need for more detailed/structured PDFs that can be re-opened in Illustrator for production needs :)

I know this isn't a top priority, but this does need to be looked at. As mentioned by the others, PDFs exported by XD are huge and can't be easily shared with stakeholders. Even going into Acrobat and reducing the file size doesn't seem to help much. Some export options would be great here.

It seems like all the images are getting exported at full-res? Seems like it would make sense to resize them on export to whatever size they're being shown in layout.
