Isolated group label (breadcrumbs)
This one will presumably have to wait until the layers panel comes to fruition, but it'd be nice if there was a label/breadcrumb at the top of the screen that told us which group was selected/in isolation mode. Pretty much exactly like illustrator's isolation mode breadcrumb bar, or maybe even simplified (after all, simplicity seems to be what XD is all about!), using just the standard breadcrumb chevron instead of icons.
I think this would be nice because I keep forgetting, or not realizing that I'm in isolation mode, then I end up drawing or pasting objects in to that group. It's nice that that's an easy way to add to the group, but there's not a clear enough indication to remind me that I'm in isolation mode, if that's not my intention. The faint blue outline, while nice and should definitely be maintained, doesn't really stand out enough if I'm not looking for it.
So, with that said, it'd be nice to have a label across the top of the workspace to indicate isolation mode, and once layers are introduced, the bar could indicate a breadcrumb of selected objects.
AND/OR
Instead of having the faint blue outline around the isolated group, maybe just have everything outside of the isolated group faded, just like illustrator.
You can see the current group context in the layers panel (as the OP suggested). If you’re interested in this on Windows, please upvote the Windows layers panel: https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007/suggestions/17504053

Agree this is highly desirable. I'd add that currently the XD group isolation behavior does not allow me to remain in isolation mode and lasso select items... or even shift+click multiple items - this is a very important behavior since it allows one to quickly work with items within a group without inadvertently selecting elements below and beside them.

Also would like that. Like what we have on Illustrator. It's easy to have a breadcrumb when i click twice in a group.
