View and share design prototypes at actual size
The full-screen feature is nice but I need to be able to show clients what my designs will look like at actual size on the web. The prototypes need to be displayed at the size they are designed at. This is the one feature that would justify me switching from using InVision for my prototyping.
You can now choose the zoom setting in the shared prototype. By setting it to 100%, you’ll be able to see the screen at the designed zoom level, regardless of the viewport. If you have additional feature requests, please feel free to file them as new tickets!

To be clear - this only started happening for me in the latest May 2020 release. Previous to that my designs would open at 100% (actual size) in full-screen.
For example; Client screen is 1920x1080. If my design is 1440x900 it would open at that actual intended size. Clients can see the design at 1440x900 and get a good feel for how the final website or app would look in their browser.
Now that functionality has changed, I'm currently looking for good alternatives to show my designs at 100%. Any suggestions?

My usual process would be to share a link with View Setting as 'Custom' and full-screen checked. The link would open at 100% by default and the user sees the design as intended (100%). I've tried 'Custom' at full-screen checked and not checked, also 'Presentation' and 'Design Review' but getting the same result with the design opening at different zoom levels dependent on screen size.
I've tried opening the link on Windows 10 and macOS Catalina in latest version of Chrome and Safari.
View setting 'Custom' with 'Open in Full Screen' checked:

Hi,
Thanks for your report. Could you share few more details
1. Is this happening for all design links or specific link only?
2. Test XD fileOS, Browser version details already mentioned as Windows 10 & Chrome 81.0.4044.138

I've updated to latest version 29.0.32, when sharing a design it now opens at full-width/height of the screen by default. This is not how I intended my design to be viewed.
Instead, I'd prefer the design displayed at the actual size it was designed at (100%) by default.
The user will still have control of zoom settings if they choose to zoom in/out.

I love designing in XD but the fact that I can't then show/test live with the web share at actual size is incredibly frustrating and I don't understand how anyone on Adobe's design team could have launched this software without that feature -- it's like you didn't even test it yourself.

I just discovered this problem after discussing layouts with my client. Very uncomfortable situation. As I work on a large screen I wasn't even aware of this problem as the Layouts only scale down an smaller screens, but don't upscale on larger screens. This "feature" is totally odd and I don't see any case when it could be useful. The client has to ALWAYS see the 100% view of the layout, please fix this asap.
With this behaviour XD is useless for me and I will go back to handcoded Prototypes. Totally ridiculous. -

Definitely need this fixed ASAP but would also add that it would be nice to be able to simply zoom in/out like you would in a PDF. Sending a design via PDF is archaic but when sharing mobile designs that are a bit longer (landing pages, home pages, etc), it's almost embarrassing sharing the link because stakeholders cannot see the design to size and/or zoom in to their preferred view. Would be great to get this zoom feature that already exists in acrobat (I am fully aware that it is a lot more complicated than applying an existing feature to a more complex software, just sharing what I'm comparing it to).

One more thing which I forget to write. This whole work we are making for client and If client is not happy and want to see actual preview like which there site look . Then whats the point to do work on XD .

First of all, I think I did not know how to do this. Now I know it is impossible to do it. Guys think, you name this software as experience and there is not way to view final output on which i can do some user testing or show this file to my team. I have wasted my entire 2 hours to find this.

This is still a great problem for the whole agency. And apparently for many more. Adobe, please fix this!

Just spent a week creating a prototype in XD - and on share it is scaled down too small to conduct the web-based UX tests I need to do this week. Looks like I have to recreate from scratch using Sketch + Invision. I can't find any solution on the web to this, so I think it must be a bug related to this feature request. Attaching screen shot of the same prototype - on the right is "100%" view in XD, on the left is what it looks like in the browswer at 100%. Zooming browser view does not change it.

Any workaround tools that actually do the job to present a design file at actual size?

I am hesitant to share live previews of my designs with clients because of this scaling issue, and because of this I might not use Adobe XD until it's fixed. This is a pretty major issue. How can clients evaluate the user experience design of a product if it's not scaled properly?? This scaling issue 100% affects user experience. Fix it!

There is a big flaw in Xd with the presentation mode that leaves normal customers that don't understand that the fixed aspect ratio is scaled to fit the browser screen.
If I design a website in Adobe Xd I usually design it in the aspect ratio of my TV that I present my prototypes to my customers if they can make an appointment to come to my office. However, often times that is not the case and I have to send out the share link, that Xd provides for me.
Screensizes differ, we as developers know that, but customers that don't know how prototypes work are usually left with white bars either on the sides or on the bottom, where they can't even scroll the website.
I've had several presentations with my clients where they thought those white areas where part of the design and didn't like my design at all.
My solution: provide more options where we can select how we want the prototype to be scaled in share mode.
The optimal option for me would be: artboard at full-width and (to say it in CSS) viewport at 100vh (100% of browser height). That way the artboard would scale to cover the full width, but also extend the viewport height to 100% without scaling the artboard.Without this fix I need export the artboards to build my own clickdummy manually in HTML which is that, because Xd has so much data about the projekt that it could easily scale the prototype by itself.
Best regards,
Timo Martin
PS: I censored data from client in the screenshots, I just wanted to visualize the problem. Red dotted line = artboard/viewport end.

If I have to explain to my leadership team one more time that the mockups are slightly smaller than what they should look like and there is no way to view them like that in XD again I'm going to switch back to Invision.
Come on Adobe. At least give me the cheat code again so I can fake it in the browser.

Dear Adobe, do we have to respond on this thread EVERY DAY to finally get this fixed?
Ok, then.
