Artboard Scrolling
This idea addresses how we can have longer pages beyond the current artboard dimensions without manually resizing.
Artboards could actually be just a viewport. You could double click on a given artboard to open an expanded canvas.
In the crude example I've uploaded below, I can still keep all of my screens aligned as I have been. When I double click on an artboard, the canvas is expanded to show I have much more content on the page. Perhaps the rest are dimmed to emphasise where we are. Think isolated mode in Illustrator.
This would keep the best of the current paradigm of lining up our screens while allowing us to have long, scrolling pages.

This is indeed completed. We have a few additional enhancements to this feature that we’ll be adding in an upcoming release including a property inspector addition for scrolling giving you more control over your viewport and an artboard’s ability to scroll.

I removed the "viewport" bit from the description. What we have now is basic scrolling for tall artboards.
For full control over the viewport vs. the scrolled content (and the ability to hide content outside the viewport so it doesn't clutter the canvas - part of the original request here), please see https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007/suggestions/12869166-scrollable-area

so... hasn't this now been completed? Why is the status still "Feature-Started"?

the new update is great - the ability to scroll in the prototype.
that happens only when i choose one of the existing dartboards.for example: i'm designing an app and started to design it for Galaxy S6 (1440x2560). this size doesn't exist on the XD pre made artboards.
i think it would be awesome if that feature will be working on custom size artboard as well. because you cant cover all the devices there are.

Looks like existing artboards do not get the new scrolling feature automatically. New artboards behave as expected.

I was using a custom size, not a preset for the artboard. 1200x900

Now that we have scrollable content, it would be great if we could adjust the blue dashed line which controls how much is seen on screen, also have the ability to set this line for custom size layouts

Scrolling on mobile width pages works awesome!
Scrolling on desktop pages that are long does not. -

Agreed. If I could vote 1 million times on this, I would.

I am glad someone has recommended this. I wasn't sure how to explain it. I think this feature is 100% crucial... Prototypes should open at "100%" and remain as such, no matter the length of the artboard.
Using fixed viewport sizes is fine if developing an app, but not so useful for website prototyping. I think this was a major oversight. I'm really looking forward to this being resolved!

This is great and beautifully specified.

Here's what I've noticed: I'm building a prototype that has multiple screen sizes - they're all 1280 wide - but some are 1000 tall, others are 1200 tall, others are 1600 tall (they're web pages, what can I say, some are longer than others).
When I go to prototype mode and "play" the prototype, the window stays at (say) 1280x1000 - but when I click onto one of the "longer" screens, the dimensions don't change - but the screen is scaled down to fit (so a 1280x1600 screen scales down to 1000 pixels high).
If there were a way to always keep the images in the prototype at 100% size (and maybe make the window scroll - or if the image was smaller - just black box it) - it would be helpful. Then I could prototype multiple size screens - or even multiple platform workflows (like a web - mobile - web workflow for a customer service & client interaction (think Amazon Kindle Mayday button)).
I'm just saying - not being able to see my full screen resolution is killing me at the moment...

The lack of scroll renders the package useless in most instances?? An absolute necessity??

scrolling is fundamental for prototyping, we need it! Put it up front, seems like a basic feature to leave out.

The scroll feature would be very helpful, seems like a really important feature to be back logged.

This is critical. I've tried using XD with two clients so far and both rejected the prototypes because the width of the screen changes based on the height of the page. Unfortunately I can't continue using XD until this feature is added.

this would be number one on my list of needed features.
create the artboard any size according to your content, and define viewport. -

I think the screen size should be set when viewing the prototype, and rules about which areas are scrollable, how the layout works, etc would be responsive to the prototype's on-the-fly-viewport size.

Web designer are doing responsive design. The idea is to create art-board as deep as needed, so none of the art-boards have actually the same high pixel. When you are on preview the high of the screen stay fix but you can scroll down or up into you art-board. At the moment, you can only have the same high for all the art-board.
