Zoom to selected object
Show all & zoom to selected object is a pretty powerful way to navigate among your artboards. Also very useful when trying to work on the details of a particular selected object.
You can now zoom to selected object. Check out the September release of Adobe XD.

Would be much better to zoom to selected when using Ctrl + and - rather than have to use Ctrl 3. In other apps, Ctrl 3 does something completely different, which is frustrating when moving between Adobe Apps. For example, in Photoshop, Ctrl 3 turns off color channels, and it doesn't toggle back, so for a new user, they could hit Ctrl 3 and have a hard time finding out what they just did to turn their image to gray scale. Zooming to the center of the work space with Ctrl + and - is useless.

After giving a few Adobe XD courses, I noticed that once you become a more routined user or know the routine from other Adobe applications, the Cmd/Ctrl-3 is not just a different key (granted, and not a big deal), but it's quite useless. The selection pops up just too much IN YOU FACE !! So zooming becomes a knee-jerk routine of hitting Cmd-3 and then repeatedly Cmd - - - - until the element is in a more appropriate view. So a bit less zoomed in would be nicer, I guess.
Or even easier: let the regular Cmd + zoom in on the selected element incrementally, just like in many other Adobe applications. That would be far more obvious, useful, and efficient.

Although the Ctrl + 3 is better than nothing, it is not as helpful as a default zoom to selected or zoom to curser, because sometimes, in a large workflow, I want to zoom into an area of the workflow, not to a full size art board. By zooming way out using CTRL - and then zooming in slowly using CTRL+ to an area of the work flow when prototyping it would be great to not have to pan over once zoomed to the center, or zoom back out again from one selected art board. Also, I have not found where some of these shortcut keys are documented?

As an alternate, zooming to the mouse as in Illustrator would also be super.

I have canvases with lots of artboards, the ability to pull out and see more than zoom in on a certain artboard, and then item on that artboard is a control I'm struggling to live without. Omni Graffle does this very well, and once you get the shortcuts mapped to your mouse, large workspaces become very usable. I become lost frequently amoung my Xd artboards.

I'd vote this 100x if it was possible. I need this function desperately.

Yes. I agree. This is a very ergonomic method. My favorite for zooming.

When at a high-level zoom (i.e. 15%), if the user clicks on a particular page or page element and zooms-in (100%), should zoom in to that particular location.
