Customize Keyboard Shortcuts
I know that your design team probably had some rationale when defining shortcut keys for actions. For example, Z does not bring up the zoom tool, A is used for artboard creation instead of direct selection, etc. On the And that's fine - you can't design for the convenience of every user. But it'll be super duper awesome if you can let us define our own shortcuts... and sooner rather than later please.

With so many different people used to different shortcuts, this would be the end-all solution. Got my vote!

photoshop and illustrator have a tremendous amount of shortcuts. why not just use the same for XD? example, the "i" in illustrator will copy the style from an object and apply it to the current selected object.
That saves a tone of time for copying styles from one to the other.
Fonts, stroke, etc
also, why not have a shortcut to switch between prototype and design mode? -

This. Please let me turn off A = artboard tool... I literally never need to make an empty artboard using that tool, 100% of the time I hit "A" it's expecting a direct-selection tool as in all the other Adobe apps I've used for the last 25+ years.

I totally agree with the usage of shortcuts, it would basically avoid compatibility problems like this one:
I live in Québec, Canada, so my personnal Mac’s keyboard is a French Canadian Qwerty (because of the use of all the accents etc..). At work though, I was given an English Canadian keyboard and can't change it. But I had it set in French Canadian Qwerty too, to keep it consistent between home and work.
The problem is that I prefer to use my softwares in French, but the french version of Xd has completely different shortcuts than the english version (that was visually more convenient for me because it was visually the same keys on the keyboard). Of course I could use Xd in English, as I am bilingual, but French is just faster to process for me when I read technical and specific content.
So because it would be insane to ask you guys to keep the same shortcuts for everyone, having the ability to customize the shortcuts would be great. So that’s my take in why I support this idea.

Please don't forget to add a shortcut option for the play preview-button top right. :-)
Ps. Also add option to edit shortcuts, because some shortcuts does not work with Swedish keyboard layouts, as it appears.

- I'm unable to duplicate objects by pressing option + any arrow key - similar to photoshop.
- I'm also unable to reposition the shape using the space bar - similar to photoshop. These two shortcuts would be nice additions to the workflow in XD and would cut down on time when creating projects, etc.

The Application should have general Preferences like keyboard shortcuts, zooming behavior (currently inverted compared to other adobe products)

On german Keyboards most of the Shortcuts are not usable - pls provide an option to edit the keyboard shortcuts like in other Adobe Apps ...

It feels difficult to speed up your workflow as many repeat tasks don't have key commands. E.G. Alignment, text re-sizing, text kerning, tracking, line height, paste into different artboards, toggle from prototype mode to design mode, fill with color (to change color of text and shapes without having to drag all the way to a tool)

It's a must have feature, because it's so annoying to relearn shortcuts in every app, and never find a way that they behave consistently !
The ultimate shortcut preferences would allow us to load a predefined map of key shortcuts mimicking a well-known app. -

Even in Photoshop, are hard-wired keyboard shortcuts that can not be used on the Czech keyboard.

+1. This would be a great feature. I understand why in different apps you'd want different keyboard shortcuts, but for us to have a choice would be great.

Consistency between Ai and XD shortcuts would be great. If it makes more sense to use R for rectangle these days, fine. Since a user can edit shortcuts in Ai, maybe adding an option in Ai to "match XD shortcuts" would help.

+1. Matching other adobe products or making shortcuts customizable would go a long way to transition designers from photoshop or illustrator who rely heavily on keyboard shortcuts.

I agree. The predefined Shortcuts for Arrange -> Bring back and forth simply does not work on a Swedish keyboard.

I'm pretty used to adobe apps shortcuts, and while I can get used to new ones, the first one I noticed missing is the Zoom (Z) shortcut
Going back and forth from Adobe apps, I think the shortcuts should be consistent, I mean, that's a good thing, isn't it ?
