As you’ve probably noticed, we’ve delivered Layout Grids in the November release of XD. We’d love specific feedback on Layout Grids as we continue to grow, so I’m closing this feature request. If you have specific additional functionality you’d like to see in the Layout Grid feature, please do file it as a new feature request in the Design feature area!

    We appreciate your efforts, also we need "Layers Panel".
    When can we expect this update?. It will be great if you can mention the releasing month.

    So this feature currently has 866 votes, making it the second most requested feature. But at the time of this comment (Aug 9, 2016) it's still listed as Feature-in-the-Backlog — meaning that Adobe is *not* currently working on it.

    Perhaps that's because the feature was submitted only a month ago (in July)?

    Regardless, it'd be nice to get an official response from Adobe on this.

    Absolutely necessary. I thought Adobe would have some of the kinks ironed out by now, so I thought I'd give it a trial run on a project. I didn't get far before realizing there is are no built in settings for columns, gutters, or even guides!

    You could simply take the settings from InDesign and apply them to XD. That would go a long way to making XD a usable web design tool!

    Grids would be really helpful. You guys at Adobe have a good way of doing them in iPad app: Adobe Comp.

    How are you meant to use this without grids? Absolutely useless... Back to sketch, they do it properly.

    Yup, a robust vertical grid system is needed.

    But also, a baseline grid is essential for vertical rhythm.

    I'm bummed to see this didn't make it into the June 2016 update. As everyone here is saying, this is not a nice-to-have feature — this is foundational.

    Cannot even start designing without a web-based grid like 12 columns and gutters-

    This is fundamental for using the app for 'real' work and is a show stopper for me. Sketch has this nailed. If you can make this functionality work along with better export features of link up to Zeplin then I'd be fully converted to Adobe XD
