Hello everyone! I’m excited to announce that in XD 45 (released today 10/26), you will be able to import MP4 video into your XD designs.

To ensure platform compatibility and performance across desktop, web and mobile preview, your video must be:

MP4
H.264
AAC audio
under 15 MB
4K or under resolution.

Enjoy and we can’t wait to see what you create!

XD does not support Animated GIF, so if you are still looking for that, please start a separate request and vote on it.

    Most importantly, exporting prototypes as Gif or Video file, with the ability to remove the white background while exporting, that is only what is visible on Artboard shows.

    This would come in handy for those of use who utilizes XD for all digital content. XD had improved over the years, but Adding Gif/video support feature (gif or video only plays at prototypes level, so as to not slow performance) would be massive, as I won't have to move to Premiere Pro to remove video background or after effects to do similar things.

    This critical feature was first suggested in March 2016. Somehow it took another three years to make it onto the development 'start' list. Nearly 2 years after that... we're still waiting!!!
    Seriously Adobe, this is just laughably bad. This is far and away the most requested idea in Adobe XD, yet in 5 years it's still not here.

    It is hard to believe that such an elementary feature takes so long to go live finally.
    If XD had been developed by a small start-up, I would still understand. But it is very strange that the software giant Adobe needs so long for it.

    Can't believe it's no there. Come on Adobe, how r we supposed to stun people with no vids today????

    Need to show video in prototypes at early design phase so clients can see the impact of video vs static image. Getting buy in early, understanding the resources required to have video an motion graphics...would really love for XD to support at least animated Gifs, if not video (only has to animate in preview mode).
