Import Videos & Animated GIFs to show in interactive preview
Support to import a video or animated GIFs to simulate animations or even playable video.
Hello everyone! I’m excited to announce that in XD 45 (released today 10/26), you will be able to import MP4 video into your XD designs.
To ensure platform compatibility and performance across desktop, web and mobile preview, your video must be:
MP4
H.264
AAC audio
under 15 MB
4K or under resolution.
Enjoy and we can’t wait to see what you create!
XD does not support Animated GIF, so if you are still looking for that, please start a separate request and vote on it.

It's incredible to see how adobe has just put things under review or feature started with little to no feedback whatsoever.
Where these functionalities are already in place with other design software...
Can anyone explain that or does this just go into the backlog of things they don't care about? -

Holly Molly,,, I can add an animated Gif in FIGMA and NOT in XD !!!!

need this asap seriously - such a simple request. If I can insert a GIF and Video into a simple application like PowerPoint - why am I not able to in Adobe XD. We are in 2021 are we not!?!?

What?.... is not implemented yet!!??
This is the only requirement to switch to XD!!!
How long can a backlog item takes? 5 years!!! Seriously? -

Figma has this and it's incredible. I'd love for XD to have it too, Gifs are great for interactions (chats, product instruction prototypes, loaders, spinners, waiting animations, stickers for chatbots). Please add it soon!

Yea, we understand Adobe isn't a startup anymore and as such alot of corporate propaganda is involved in every process (including something as simple as adding a small JavaScript feature to a software).
But seriously, if you want market share for this particular sector - listen to your users. You already have a cult following that's why we choose to stay.
There are plenty of great options out there from startups with limited resources.
Please stay innovative.Ohh and add the stupid feature or hire me to do it for you. (I'll gladly do it for free!)

Actually considering using other software because of a lack of this feature. It would enhance user experience so, soo much!

It's just basic web and app functionality and I'm quite surprised Adobe didn't have the foresight to include it from the beginning.

A native support for Bodymovin / Lottie files (even static first on the Canvas, animation playback settings on the Prototype tab) and APNG (Animated PNGs) would be appreciated too

I think what would make this even better is if Lottie Animations were included with this.

We need this. Even viewing GIFS while sharing on the browser would massively enhance the experience.
