  1. Provide the ability to reposition/move images within masks.

If you make a mask via Object > Mask With Shape, then you can double-click into it to reposition the image (or other content) within the mask.

However, if you drag an image file onto a shape, it gets masked by the shape and you CANNOT reposition the image or adjust the cropping. It is auto-cropped to fill the shape when you resize it, but you don't currently get full control of the cropping.

  2. In V1, it's clear that support for AI and PS files will be minimal. But please support SVG files. As of now, SVG files don't even appear and if they do, only parts of them are seen.

With SVG support, I can export all my AI artwork to SVG and import that into XD without losing any styles. This will be a great temporary fix while you work on supporting AI files. Please make this happen for V1.

  3. When opening a document there needs to be a warning if the fonts used are not currently active.

At this time it involves a lot of guess work to remember which fonts a used in a specific project to have the active before opening the document.

    thanks!

  4. I think most of us in the industry already use AI and/or PS as our primary design tool. It would have been awesome if XD was a tool that focused on simply adding interactivity to artwork that was imported from AI or PS. AI and PS already have all the editing capabilities... why do you want to add them again in XD. It seems like the goal was to create an answer to Sketch, rather than enabling existing Adobe users to rapidly create interactive prototypes. Adobe's core strength is in AI and PS... and you could have hit it out…

  5. it's pretty self-explanatory.. you can give feedback by commenting and making annotations on the prototype, if someone posts something you get an email with a summarium of all the feedback or you get notified via creative cloud.. there could be settings where you want to be notified and if instantly or like 1 hour later!

this is valuable to me because it makes the communication easier, which otherwise would lead to tons of emails going back and forth.

With our November release, you can now add comments to shared prototypes! Comments are contextual to the artboard. Please check it out and let us know what you think. Feature improvements should be suggested as new ideas in UserVoice.

    Thanks!

  6. Everyone uses icons. They're everywhere so you spend a lot of time using them during design. Usually you need some external project opened with those icons and copy-paste them etc.

Would be good to have some kind of built-in way to use imported icons (or any asset actually)

As of know you can copy and paste items from Illustrator and from browsers. You can also import SVG from Sketch and from Finder. Could you change the title for this item to Font Icon support? If that is the case. Thanks.

  7. It is super important to live view your design as you work.

    Hi guys,

Just wanted to let you know that you can now preview, in real time, your #AdobeXD designs and prototypes, on iOS devices (iPhones and iPads) or Android phones (Android tablet support will land soon). Make changes to your design and see it reflected on all the devices you have connected. Add wires to your prototype and play with it to polish the experience, all within the same workflow.

View all the details here (blog post and video): https://blogs.adobe.com/creativecloud/september-update-of-adobe-experience-design-cc-preview

Please give it a try and let us know what you think.
Be part of XD’s journey on mobile devices, this is just the beginning.

Really looking forward to hearing your feedback!

    Hi everyone,

I’m happy to announce that with version 13 you can export your designs from XD to After Effects. Layers, artboards, symbols, groups and artwork are transferred as editable and with great visual fidelity.

    Here’s how it works:
    1. In XD, select the layers or artboards you want to animate in After Effects.
    2. Go to: File> Export > After Effects. If After Effects is not installed on your machine, this option is greyed out. You can also use the ⌥⌘F (Mac), or Ctrl+Alt+F (Windows) keyboard shortcuts.
    3. The selected layers or artboards are added as native shapes, texts, assets, and nested compositions in your AE project.

Here’s the list with what’s supported and not supported at this time: https://helpx.adobe.com/ro/xd/kb/open-after-effects-files-in-xd.html

Thanks for voting this feature and let us know how it works!

    Best,
    Dan Tuhoarca

  9. I think it's quite obvious.

Would be good to have blur option

    Also:
    - Bluring everything below some element is quite popular (like iOS menus)
    - Blur should stay solid on edges of element (quite often it fades there)

  10. XD could really use a Round to Pixel command. Yes, I'm pulling this straight from Sketch, but it's awfully useful. The command simply rounds every anchor point to the nearest whole-pixel value, eliminating fractional pixels.

This feature has been added in our November update (version 0.6.2): choose Object > Align to Pixel Grid to tweak the X/Y/W/H so the object(s) are crisply aligned with the pixel grid. You can use this command with a multiple selection or with groups selected to align multiple objects at once.

Note: aligning to pixel grid does not always mean the X/Y/W/H won’t have fractions. For center-stroked shapes (lines and Pen tool, mostly), sometimes the X/Y need to end in .5 to keep the stroke crisply aligned on-pixel.

I see some people in the discussion thread here are asking for snap to pixel “by default.” Adobe XD should already do that, with very few exceptions (see https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353010/suggestions/16962847-resizing-multiple-selection-or-group-loses-pixel-alignment). If you’re encountering other situations where objects you created in XD are not pixel aligned by default, please file a new bug here in UserVoice.

Thanks everyone for all your feedback and…

  11. • can't edit any part of text separately . Try to give different weight, style, size or color any piece of text, this changes whole text.
    • can't kern any text
    • can't give a line height *this is vital
    • can't reach glyph

  12. Holding a hot-key like option (⌥) would display measurement guides between the selected object and other objects. Similar to how Sketch handles this now... http://www.sketchapp.com/learn/documentation/10-canvas/3-measuring.html

  13. I would like to share my full document to my team in order to communicate all specifications I added. This would help them giving a bit more context to the prototype and also be able to see all the different states of a pattern to build.
Maybe save as a PDF file or also online?

We’ve released the Design Specs feature in our November release as a Beta. You can now publish a Design Spec, which will show your developer an overview of the flow and allow them to introspect measurements and styles. We’re working on additional functionality based on this foundation, so I’m closing this feature as completed in order to get new suggestions as to what specific additions you’d like to see to the Design Specs feature.

Please also note that we now have a new feature area called “Design Specs” in UserVoice, so please file new feature requests there! As a reminder, please file one suggestion per UserVoice submission so that we can better aggregate!

  14. Rather than fixed zoom amounts, a Zoom tool (in the toolbar - z to select it) would be a great addition - allowing marquee style zooming

    Hi everyone,

just wanted to let you know, that we have just shipped the zoom tool in the July update of XD.

In addition to zooming with Alt+Mouse Scroll or Pinch-to-zoom on trackpad, you can now access the actual marquee zoom tool in the toolbar via the loupe icon (Z shortcut) or the temporary zoom like in PS and AI via SPACE+CMD, that allows you to do panning and zooming together when navigating the canvas.

    Hope you enjoy it.

Read more about the July update.

  15. Allow users to add a gradient to a shape instead of just fills.

When importing a shape with a gradient from illustrator it currently makes the shape invisible…

  16. I like the idea that you simplify layers and groups. But when we come to code flow, renaming all assets after export is very waste of time.

We’re so excited to announce that overlays are now available in our June release! With this feature, you can set any artboard as the overlay target of another artboard and visually place it in the right place in the viewport. Please do let us know what improvements you’d like to see in this feature as individual tickets in UserVoice – we’re listening!

As you’ve probably noticed, we’ve delivered Layout Grids in the November release of XD. We’d love specific feedback on Layout Grids as we continue to grow, so I’m closing this feature request. If you have specific additional functionality you’d like to see in the Layout Grid feature, please do file it as a new feature request in the Design feature area!

    Thanks,

  20. It would be a good way to organize elements if we have the layer panel. Locking and unlocking elements is just a click away.
