On Hover to provide tooltip or pop-over,
As of now you guys have provided the On hover component/button styling. But we need to add tooltips at times or a mini popover on hover which will be helpful.2 votes
You can actually do tooltips using components. Are you looking for more than this? https://twitter.com/elainecchao/status/1194695173499830273?s=20
It's frustrating that you only have the ability with Layout Grid to create columns. horizontal 8 point grids are becoming a big thing with UI design. XD needs to have that capability. Until then I will have to stick with Sketch.2 votes
The feature name is “square grids” – more information can be found here: https://helpx.adobe.com/xd/help/artboards-grids.html#grids Does this address your need?
I share often to see my design results. The share UI and share tab are now far apart so it has become a very frustrating workflow to go back and forth between tabs and the share UI panel. And there doesn't seem to be a keyboard shortcut to share that works (I'm on a PC).6 votes
Thanks for your feedback! I’d love to get a concrete suggestion as to how you’d want this to be fixed. There’s already a keyboard shortcut (you can cycle through tabs by using Ctrl+Tab).
Thanks for your feedback. Right now, when you share a design spec, an interactive prototype is shared as well. It should remain in sync as often as you update the design spec. Does this address your issue, or are you looking for something different?
I needed to .exe export when I create a project demo on prototyping mode to sending this export to the manager or somebody that he doesn't have XD on his Computer.
please add .exe export in this section.
thank's a lot.3 votes
Have you tried sharing to the web instead? This would give your manager who doesn’t have access to XD.
In Figma I can set margins and gutters and then let the columns stretch over whatever the remaining amount of pixels is. Super easy to work with. Would be a great feature to add to XD :)3 votes
Thanks for your feedback! You can actually already do this – just set your margins and gutters in layout grid, and the columns will recalculate. The only caveat is that our columns are pixel-snapped, which means that you can’t have fractional columns. (Instead, we’ll add the remainder to the margin.) Given this information, can you clarify what you’d like changed about the existing layout grid system?
I have a ton of prototypes. In addition to adding folders (covered in other requests) I would like the ability to archive old prototypes.4 votes
Thanks for your feedback! Currently, you can delete and archive prototypes from assets.adobe.com. Can you clarify what type of experience you’re hoping XD would have to manage your prototypes?
Thanks for your feedback! Unfortunately, it’s unclear to me what you’re asking for. Can you please clarify?
When selecting text (via drag selection or double clicking a word), it will display the blue highlight boundary. There are some UI kits that use this blue as part of their wireframing palette making it impossible to see the text highlight when you have text on top of this color.
Ideally, the selection highlight should just invert the color underneath it so you can always see the boundary.1 vote
We currently reflect the system selection color, which you can configure and change through the operating system. If I read you correctly, you’d like for XD to ignore that and just invert from the current color?
When trying to align objects, object won't align to the same edge as something else, Example box and a line dont align for half pixel!
When will this issue be fixed? This same bug is found from Bugs section but it shows there that it is resolved even it is not!1 vote
Andrei has some questions for you in the comments.
Currently, after creating a component, there is a preview image of that component in the assets panel. But if you make a change to that master component (for example, changing a green object to red) the preview in the assets panel does not update. So even though I now want this component to be a red object, it becomes very hard to find it in the assets panel, at a glance because it is still green in the preview image.4 votes
Sherif has Emailed a question – looking forward to getting a response!
When I have a component I would like to be able to add a shadow to the component. Currently there is only fill and border available.3 votes
Sherif has a response for you: Alan,
Today in XD, you could select any layer inside the component and add a shadow to it, and it render outside the component bounding box. Does that solve your use case? if not, could you please add more detail into what you’re trying to achieve.
When shared on the web, links do not support browser features like:
- Mousewheel click to open in new tab
- Copy link address
Links in general should support browser features you would expect to work on links.1 vote
Thanks for your feedback! I’m unclear about what you’re trying to accomplish. Can you please clarify?
ADOBE XD v 126.96.36.199 does not preview to "Amazon Echo Show 5" properly. I keep getting black bars on either side of my layouts regardless of what size I set up my artboards. The internet says the Show 5 screen dimensions are 960x480, but XD won't do that. Any workarounds?1 vote
Have you tried creating a custom artboard? You can press A in Design Mode to create a new artboard (either draw or click and change the artboard), or set the Custom Artboard field in the Start screen.
It would be great to define font families that will be used in a project by adding them to the artboard property panel.
This would help to
- limit numbers of font used in a webdesign
- change the font of a whole project
- maintain character styles easyly
- avoid to miss some font replacement2 votes
Have you tried using the assets panel for this? Let us know if there’s something specific you need in the property inspector.
Allow border or fill color to be focused so I can use saved colors from components to apply to fill OR border
Similar to the 'Color' tool panel from AI.
This can/should also incorporate other features like seeing the hex or color build information of the fill or outline without having to click into a secondary panel.
Tie in key commands like 'x' for swapping the focus from outline to fill, 'd' for resetting to base black/white, etc.1 vote
Thanks for your feedback! Are you asking specifically because you want to make it easier? You can currently right click the color chip in the assets panel and select “Apply as Border.”
Due to 7-22-2019 news regarding XD and alexa...
I have download Plugin Alexa preview for Adobe XD, however, skill Adobe XD at alexa app does not exist! When will it be available?1 vote
According to the blog post, you should be able to enable the Alexa Skill here or via the Alexa app: https://www.amazon.com/Adobe-XD/dp/B07VH9ZKMY/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=adobe+xd&qid=1564785742&s=digital-skills&sr=1-1
Let us know if this doesn’t work for you!
I thinks its very annoying that you now force us to present the design specs and prototype in the same share cause now it's impossible to iterate these two documents separately. Most of the times my design specs and my prototypes are different iterations and must be shared separately. Often we iterate different prototypes and we send design specs for just sections of the design, the section that has been accepted for release. With the new setup it's impossible to continuous this strategy and it messes things up. Please give us back the opportunity to share ONE thing at the time! You could for instance make two options in the share section of XD where we could choose to share the specs with or without prototype or at least give us back the chance to share prototype files separately.

Arun has an additional question for you in the comments.
When I have a component like a card with a button in it (button is a nested component) and I drag a different button in to swap it out, the card component should update the original button name with the new name in the layers panel.3 votes
How would you handle the situation where you’ve given the instance a significant name (e.g. “navigation home”) and then swapped it out? Would you want to overwrite what you’ve already written with the name of the new component?
I would like to be able to reveal the color in the assets panel, even if the assets panel is not open. If I have the layers panel open the option is currently not in the context menu. It would be great if it was an option regardless of what panel is open and if clicked it would automatically open the appropriate assets
Thanks for your feedback! Is your expectation that you would hot-swap to the assets panel when you hover? This means that you’d lose visibility of where you are in the layers panel currently.
- Don't see your idea?
