Remove auto-capitalizing first word
As an XD user, I think I'm smart enough to type capital case letters when I really need to. I don't need the auto correction. Thank you very much!
Thanks for your feedback! This is actually a system setting – you can change this setting by going to System Preferences > Keyboard > Text and unclick the “Capitalize words automatically” setting. This should adjust your autocorrect settings. Please feel free to file a different ticket if you still see this issue!

My issue is when I'm flowing-in a headline that runs over three lines, XD automatically capitalises the for word of each line, which means that essentially I have capital letters in the middle of a sentence (not just after a period). I don't really want to have to make a system-wide change, just in order to get XD to work properly.
Also text spell check & find/replace features like that found in ID would be really handy.

If you don't want to capitalize a word that is being previewed, simply press the ESC key.

So glad that I found this thread, thank you. I feel so much better now, not having to go back and undo the capitalization and also to not see it on every line when I hit enter. You've relieved my XD text stress....:)

June 2021. System Preferences is off. Can't type MM7E it insists on Mm7E

This is so annoying. I turned everything off and yet it still tries to correct everything. Takes double/triple the time to write a text. Why would you force a capitalization without an option to disable it?

Hi there,
I'm not sure if this is because of some update but all of the sudden this started being a problem in XD.I'm on a windows machine, so the "System Preferences > Keyboard > Text and unclick the “Capitalize words automatically” setting" workaround doesn't apply to me, I don't know of any setting like that in windows?

I'd also like to vote that this is a feature request. I don't want to turn it off for all programs, XD is literally the only tool where this is a problem for me.

Hello,
I realize this is a year old but we also have had updates that should have addressed this. Auto formatting is a global system setting and is not an app specific setting. Of all the Adobe products I use XD is the only one that changes the established patterns we are familiar with. For instance the pen tool auto curves following a curved node and this auto correct/capping is not found in any of the other Adobe design applications I use.
Using system settings t update this is not a good choice as it affects the system. If we don't need to change this for PSD, ILL, ID why should we need to highjack system settings for XD?
This is def a feature request for a feature that should not exist.

actually I think it IS a feature request. As I usually liek my auto correct to fix it for me as it is very common german. But it very annoying when working with icon fonts like FontAwesome, which I do a LOT.
