Use multiple instances of the same swatches
It would be great to add multiple instances of the same color to the Color asset library using labels to differentiate each instance. The same color might be used across multiple components and UI elements across the document, sometimes its necessary to only tweak just one instance of the color and not make a global change.
Thanks for your feedback! If you need to make a local change and unlink something from a color from the asset library, select the object and open the color picker in the property inspector on the right hand side. The changes there won’t reflect across your canvas, only on the individual object. Hope that helps!

This is not a suitable solution when presenting a file to a client where they should simply be able to edit the swatches, ie. Title, Subtitle, Text Containers.
If the client chooses to have them all white, then so be it, but for goodness sake, don't have XD auto-merge them! There isn't even any sort of warning to alert the user that their swatches will be merged when it happens.
Two days later they come back and want the subtitle some sort of grey and then the whole file has to be re-edited manually to locate all the subtitles wherever they appear or otherwise restarted from scratch with a heap of copy pasting.
The current method of using FFFFFFA, FFFFFB, etc to differentiate swatches which are the "same" is not acceptable; it is inefficient, sloppy and completely unprofessional.
To be honest, I expect more from Adobe.
