Warn me when I start modifying a symbol
It is easy forgotten which graphics is a symbol and which is not. I ran into a large rework by revising a graphic size which was a symbol used across multiple screen sizes. UX should warn me that I am about to edit a symbol similar how Adobe Illustrator does. Moreover, I should be able so see how many instances of a symbol and where one is being used.
Searching for a symbol can be another improvement.
As we haven’t heard back in about six months, I’m closing this as inactive. Please feel free to log this again if you feel like you still need this feature!

Yes, Dani, experience with symbols is improved with hover tooltips, search and "highlight on canvas" feature. "Highlight on canvas" could work even better by similarity InDesign "Go to link" viewing linked images and moving page views from one to another page based on < > navigation when multiple exists.

Elaine, this request may not received a lot of attention, perhaps because it is not as apparent. Yet, I believe "warning about editing a symbol" is very useful feature. While working with many pages (I had over 100) and with design versions things get screwed pretty up easy. This happed to me and will to others.

Leo -- Thanks for the feedback. Your request to warn when editing a symbol is noted and a search option. There are a few capabilities in the tool now that I'm not sure if your aware of -- specifically:
1. Hoovering over a symbol in the Assets panel lets you know how many instances of that symbol there are on the canvas
2. You can determine where a symbol is in use on the canvas by selecting "Highlight on Canvas" from the right menu when clicking on a symbol in the Assets panel.Have you tried these features and found them to be lacking?
