Line height: should function as it does on the web
On the web, i often use line height to determin the height of the types container. Therefore the text should sit vertically centrally to its line height. This is different to how line height works in print.
I also use line height for vertical rhythm. see more info on this here:
http://typecast.com/blog/4-simple-steps-to-vertical-rhythm
vertical rhythm is a huge factor when I design for web

It's 2022 (6 years later!) and this is a core feature! Please fix this Adobe :( :(

Text formatting capabilities are essential for diagramming, including on mobile devices. Please pay attention to indentation and tabulation.

Fix this crap! How the heck was this overlooked when XD was developed?

I need the text visual height "cap height to baseline" to not only drive the scale of the font. Meaning then size 20 will actually be 20. But it should also drive the bounding box used for alignment and spacing of objects around the font.
That way, developers will get the correct spacing around font objects and the font will look correctly when realized in apps or the web.
Here is a good explanation of this behavior with comparison examples: https://community.adobe.com/t5/adobe-xd-discussions/proper-text-scaling-and-allignment-is-currently-impossible/m-p/12582091#M58349 -

Line height should be able to be specified as a % (eg 120%) or Factor (eg 1.2). Not just an absolute px (eg 12px). Just like the web!
Am I missing something in XD?

Huge failure on Adobe part. 5 years is way to long for "user voice". We are here asking you to fix it, what else do we need to do? Least you could do is let us adjust the vertical alignment within the text box.

This needs to happen and fast. Seems like such a simple change which is so fundamental to us designers.

Why are Adobe so quiet on this? This is causing major issues with 8pt grid and it's causing a lot of frustrated conversations between design and development teams. This is a fundamental issue to the software where we are considering as a "group" to move away from Adobe for only this reason. It's wasting so much time by having conversations that really shouldn't be being had.

C'mon, Adobe! This should be a no-brainer! We need this fixed asap!
I'm using a 8pt grid and this needs to properly align to the line-height of the text - but it's not because of this bug.

Adobe please fix this. Feels like hell to always explain this to developers and to try to align text properly. Thanks

Adobe, please provide some sort of feedback. This is driving us crazy and the developers hate us for it!

I love most things about XD, but this line height issue is extremely frustrating and really needs to be fixed asap.

Is there any update on this? XD is the only webdesign tool that ignores html text web behaviour.
We waited so long but will switch to figma no, because using (big) design systems and having this text issue is a dealbreaker. -

Need this !

This is pretty much the only reason I'm still using Sketch instead of XD.
