When is this feature coming? Why so slow? we need it.

We already have an overlay function. Why you don't make use of it, and include an option to be on hover, or on click. That's it. :)

Truly disappointing that a basic feature like this is not implemented. Adobe is dropping the ball big time on this! Ideally it would be great to be able to create a button with the animations and the button states and turn it into a component rather than creating additional art boards to accommodate for the animation sequence. Plus, it would streamline your work flow.

Beats me how a Voice Command trigger could supersede the XD dev team's priority backlog over a simple hover action :(. My web app developer is till date unable to understand a simple hover change.

Besides obviously using tools like Figma, is there a better way of getting it done through XD itself?

Show buttons, list and other controls with its hover it's a must!
I mean, designers need to show this effects to developers and customers.

Adobe, é muito ruim não ter este simples efeito. Não é bom para mim, para o usuário de teste ou para o produto ADOBE XD ter que prototipar no concorrente (Marvelapp por exemplo).

This is a critical need for prototyping. Some of the most nuanced interactions exist with hover states - even simple color changes, text effects and shape animations would be a welcome addition!

Please introduce hover effect soon ! XD is the most easiest and comfortable tool for UI and without hover effect it just cripples the design.

This is a basic interaction. Beyond mind-blowing that it is not yet implemented. You will lose usage by not having this. #AdobeFail

While tap/hover effect seems like a very useful feature for a presentation.

Yet, asking all who vote - do you not care about mismatched colors when designing in XD, comparing to how it looks when presenting it?

We need to have the button, link, image hover effect. All the applications and website require this feature. So please implement this in next Xd update release.
