Allow Downloading Assets inside Component States.
Why assets inside components aren't available to download?
We need all assets inside any state of a component to be available to be downloaded.
Right now: Assets inside component states are not available to download, only assets inside the default state are available.
12 votesThanks for your feedback! Assets inside of states can now be downloaded from design specs. Please republish your design specs to access this feature!

[Bug] VS Code. Can't complete tokens
I can't get style dictionary working in VS Code when compiling or editing a DSP on my mac. I just get an 'error generating tokens'. I've clicked install on the XD DSP plugin when prompted, and I've also tried installing via amp install, but no luck.

Inspect if an element is a component and know where it comes from
I've used this functionality with Zeplin, and it's considerably useful for a Developer to know if that element should integrate it as a reusable component or just as a specific element of a page (and also know where it comes from and on which pages it's currently being used)
4 votesThanks for your feedback! There’s actually a section in the design spec that calls out the fact that it’s a component. I’ve attached an animated GIF to explain how it shows up.

Show Layout Grid in Development Share Link
Show layout grids on artboards when in development mode - how this feature (https://helpx.adobe.com/xd/help/inspect-design-specs.html#Viewandinspectlayoutgridproperties) was removed as a feature with update 24.x boggles me...
46 votesWe’ve returned this in the January version of XD. You may need to republish with layout grids turned on in order to get this option to show up again.

Component States to Development (Design Specs)
How can we export Hover states to development?
In the specs there is only one state in the component. How will development see all states?404 votesThis is now available for you in today’s release of XD 34. You will need to re-publish your design specs to access component states.

Allow editing shared specs links' titles - use case for derivative files.
If I make derivative files from a file that was already shared as a specs link all derivatives will have the same title on the shared specs screen.
Confusing to devs and clients and a common use case when working on products.
1 voteClosing this as already in the product as per the OP :) Thanks for getting back to us!

Switch between grid and flow view for Share for Development
There has been a recent change to the share for Dev view. We relied on that view to express flows. Now it is in a grid similar to Zeplin. I get the change, but not the removal. It would be great to be able to switch between the two. This way individual assets are still quickly accessed and the flow can also be expressed. Our devs were looking at the linking and able to view the overall flow. This was determined to be extremely helpful.

Collapse the property inspector on design specs
When on the smaller screens (desktop and mobile) the Asset panel takes up a large space of the screen. Create possibility to collapse and open this, or make more mobile friendly.
To be able to use to whole screen to only view the artboard, click on elements and see their specs on mobile and have space to create comments.4 votesThis is now available in the latest design specs links published from XD 21.0 onwards.

Show component name in the design specs
It's great to have the component at last. But now I need to communicate the component name with the developers. for example: the values of a certain text are not interesting - they only need to know its class (is it H1, H2...?)
Swatches already have the name (only on hover, why?) in the specs, so it's obvious you did recognise the need for that.
49 votesHi,
You can now access component names or tokens in the shared Design Specs links in the latest release of Adobe XD. Refer to this link for more details: https://helpx.adobe.com/xd/user-guide.html/xd/help/create-design-tokens-in-XD.ug.html
Encourage you to check it out and let us know if you have any feedback?
Thanks!

Download assets as JPGs from Design Specs
Please create the option to download assets as JPGs from design specs. As of right now, there are only options to download as PNG or PDF. JPG seems pretty odd to exclude. Additionally, it would be great if you could have the ability to control your batch export preferences.
199 votesThis is now available in the latest version of XD! Make sure you republish before accessing the design spec to access this feature.

Publish Character Style Names in Design Specs
When you are working with many different fonts it's handy to name them to keep check of what you are working with. However when uploading the design specs to hand over to the developer, it lists the font styles WITHOUT the custom names.
Please can you upload the style names too?

Design Specs link - Display unique Typographic Specs within one textbox
See attached Screenshot for reference;
If a designer has set up multiple fonts / weights / sizes within one textbox, the design specs link can only read one spec per textbox. This forces the designer to change their workflow by setting up every heading/ paragraph etc. within a new textbox, to allow the developer to read all the specs.
We need to be able to see the unique specs for typography (font name, weight, size etc) wether or not it's set up in one textbox.
Also for example, suppose I have one sentence in which only two words are bolded,…
2 voteshis feature is now available in all design specs links published from XD 21.0 or above.
XD will now let developers select and inspect different text spans in a single text layer that includes multiple styles, including superscript and subscript styles.

Put Comment Feature in Design Spec Public Link
Why is the comment feature not allowed in the Design Spec Public Link? Why can't it work the same as Prototype Shared Link? Why is it only in the Private Link?
I want a place for my team to review my screens from a bird's eye view without having to invite them.
And the email invite is crap because it only works if it's their adobe email account. But what if they don't have an Adobe account? Then it doesn't work. So now I don't feel confident sharing any private link because it's highly likely they cannot access it.
I…
1 voteWe’ve delivered comments in design specs. Arun has mentioned:
Commenting feature is present even for the Design Spec public links. When you publish a public Design Specs link from latest release of XD and share it with your team, they would be able to open the commenting panel and add provide feedback. Please note that commenting feature is available for both Public & Private links.
Private links is a secure way of sharing your designs with team members. When reviewers click on the invite email, they would be taken to Adobe sign-in page where they can choose to sign-up in case their email does not have an adobe ID. As soon as they sign-up, it would automatically be associated and would provide them access to view your private design.

Multiple Color in Text - Design Specs
If there is a paragraph where there text color is not everywhere the same, on the design specs you can view only one color and not the second one.
It would be nice and handy especially for the developers, to be able to see/pick all the colors that are used inside a paragraph placeholder on the design specs mode.

Export assets from web version (xd.adobe.com)
I'm a developer and we normally often get Photoshop files shared via Creative Cloud. Creative Cloud has an option on assets.adobe.com "Extract", this takes you to a screen when you can directly extract assets and download them as SVG/PNG etc.
As a developer I don't need to or want to delve into a graphics program to try and extract individual assets. I don't want to know about clipping masks etc. etc. I just want to be able to contextually extract assets as I'm building a website/app. Creative Cloud's Extract feature works well for this but there seems to be no…
6 votesHi All,
With XD’s 11.0 release (which happened moments ago), we’ve made this feature live.
You can now save time and give developers the ability to extract and download assets from Design Specs. Mark layers as assets for export and send as a Design Specs link. Developers can download all the assets in the file format they need
As always, please do let us know about what you think of this feature and feel free to log the improvements that you’d like to see in this workflow as new requests at adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007-adobe-x..
Thanks,

Design Spec: ability to download assets for developer, just like in Zeplin.
Just like how it works in Zeplin, developers can select an asset in the design to inspect its properties and then can download that asset to use.

Design Specs, hard to view specs of grouped/layered elements
Hard to view specifications of every element in a group/layer. For developers it seems better not to group anything, so they can view every item and layer (like overlays, highlighted text, etc.). But even then one cannot see all colors of the layers in one element (when you show different states of button, you add a 30% black overlapping layer on top of a color). A solution would be to show all layers, and make them selectable.
33 votesWe’ve now introduced right-click as well as ability to hold CMD to drill down on layers. With these two features, one can select any layer in the artbaords that you are inspecting

Cannot select object underneath in Design Specs
About selecting objects
On the "Design Spec" screen,
If the number of overlapping objects is large,
It seems that you can not select an object.
(Can not select object with hierarchy below??)I am in trouble because I can not get an accurate margin between objects.
Consideration of correction, thank you.8 votes機能を完了したときにこれを見逃したようです! 設計仕様を右クリックしてその下のレイヤーを確認し、それを選択して測定できるようにします。

Looks like we missed this one when we completed the feature! You can right click in the design spec and see the layers underneath it, then select it to be able to measure.

Make Styles panel collapsible, or add fullscreen mode in Design Specs
When viewing design specs on smaller screens, the top, right, and bottom panels take up too much space. I recommend making the right panel collapsible, the bottom panel shorter, and the top panel transparent like the bottom one.
