Grid and layout at the same time
Like the title says, i would like to use the layout and pixel grid at the same time to get the maximum out of it. For example when you have a 8px soft grid and want to find your layout grid you have to switch between these.
When both are active than they just overlay (maybe with pixelgrid beeing in the bg).
Since some of you have mentioned wanting this for baseline grids, you might want to upvote this one (Baseline Grids) as well: https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007/suggestions/13030764

Hello everyone,
I would like to add material Design grid system to our XD Document. Now it’s not possible to add more than one Grid.
It should be possible to add 8px Grid and 4/12 Columns Grid and to save this as style.
Now I can only switch between 8px grid or columns grid and I can’t save it as a style.
It will be grate to have this Funktion like in Figma. -

You could make your grid implementation SO MUCH BETTER if you simply treated each grid as an independent layer with its own customizable properties. By default there should be no grids under the "grid" heading, but there should be a "+" button. Click that button, and it asks you which type of grid you'd like to create: layout or square, and have basic customization options for each: color, size, gutters, margins, etc depending on the selected type. Hit "ok", and now your grids list has that grid listed. You can toggle grids on and off or delete them entirely from the list itself, or you can double-click a grid to modify its configuration options. That way people could have as many layout and/or square grids as they want on each artboard.

Hello,
Could be interesting to change the increment value if needed. For exemple, working on 8px unit grid moving elements with a 10px increment is not efficient.
Tks.

It's pain in the ass when working on a complicated UI project. We're really need to able to use both 'Square' and 'Layout' grids same time.

You may wish to refer to Figma's implementation. Being able to create multiple layout guides/grids and have these visible at the same time is an important baseline for those of us who spend more time designing web UIs.
For me personally, the difficulty of having to repeatedly switch between these, and the absence of rulers and manual guides are all that is keeping me from using XD more regularly. -

When working on object alignments and line spacing, I want to save time on switching between grid view and layout view by activating both at once. It will also be helpful to have horizontal layout bars which can be used as a baseline grid.

for my case, i want to use the grid layout (once it stable) and still able to practice my pixel perfect habits using the grid.
now the case is i have to switch between grid and guide, or work on the y & x values.
i certainly hope to see this working some day, seeing both grid and guide at the same time while working instead of switching between them.

Also adding an option to display/hide columns/grid globally. The need to have selected canvas now is really bothering.

I second this as a valuable asset to me.

Simultaneous use of a layout grid and a square grid.
